Karen/see me smile

recorded 1980 Captain Audio, released 1981
7” 45 RPM record, Scenic Route Records /Route 66
The last time into the studio for the original era Scenics, and the only trip into the studio for the 80’s Scenics lineup (in photo, l-r Badger, Perkell, Meyers, Fox). “Karen” was a new pop song by Andy Meyers.“See Me Smile” was a revisit of one of the earliest songs Ken Badger wrote for the Scenics in 1976. Sessions were a reunion with Barry Steinberg, who co-produced the Scenics’ first two demos in 1977. It was also the Scenics’ first time in a 16 track studio.
Released on the Scenics' own label as a last attempt to reach a larger audience. They did not succeed: fortunately
this means there are still copies available...
Mastered at Manta Sound. Engineered by Ray Soldiuk and Barry Steinburg. Produced by The Scenics and Barry Steinburg. “drawing” artwork by Ken Badger. “photo’ artwork by Andy Meyers.
